Nigeria’s National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, held high-level discussions with U.S. Vice President J. D. Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, underscoring the growing strategic partnership between Nigeria and the United States in the fight against terrorism and regional insecurity in West Africa.

The meeting highlighted renewed cooperation between both nations as Nigerian security forces intensify efforts to dismantle terrorist networks, combat insurgency, and restore stability across affected regions. Discussions also focused on strengthening intelligence sharing, military training, counterterrorism coordination, and broader security collaboration aimed at protecting civilians and vulnerable communities.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu expressed appreciation for the continued partnership and support of U.S. President Donald Trump, particularly in the areas of intelligence assistance, security training, and operational cooperation. Nigerian authorities reaffirmed their commitment to defending all citizens, including Christian communities and other vulnerable populations affected by extremist violence.

The engagement signals a renewed commitment by both countries to deepen diplomatic and security ties in pursuit of peace, stability, and regional security across West Africa.
