Politics is about strategy, balance, inclusion, and winning elections, not repeating avoidable mistakes.

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) must carefully study what is happening in Owerri Federal Constituency today. APC has concentrated its major tickets within the same OAU/Obibiezena political bloc. Alex Mbata for Senate, Toska for House of Representatives, and Julie Egbo for House of Assembly are all coming from the same axis.

At the same time, Uratta already holds enormous political influence with the Owerri East Senate seat, House of Assembly seat, Commissioner position, and Local Government Chairmanship.

A smart political party must understand the importance of equity, spread, and political balancing. Concentrating power in one bloc while neglecting other major political areas creates dissatisfaction and weakens grassroots enthusiasm across the constituency.

The wisest calculation for NDC should,therefore, look towards Owerri Municipal, Owerri West, the Alaenyi bloc, or the p of Owerri North. These areas have credible, acceptable, and sellable candidates capable of building broader unity and expanding the party’s support base.

This is the moment for courage and strategic thinking.

Victory comes from inclusion, fairness, and intelligent political calculation.I can boldly attest that the best option for NDC is to look out for aspirants from other parts of Owerri North Local Government Area who are yet to test political relevance, unlike others.

Any other thing to the contrary will tantamount to voluntarily handing over the Owerri Federal Constituency ticket to APC. We should remember that “wisdom is too profitable to direct.” Of course, “a stitch in time saves nine.”
