Kayode Are Presents His Letter Of Credence To U.S. President Trump At The White House
Colonel Kayode Are (Rtd), Nigeria’s Ambassador to the United States, has formally presented his Letter of Credence to U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House, officially commencing his tenure as Nigeria’s top diplomat in Washington, D.C.
Colonel Are was appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on January 22, 2026, as part of a new round of diplomatic postings aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s international engagement and foreign relations.
The credential presentation ceremony, attended by senior government officials and diplomatic representatives from both nations, underscored the enduring strategic partnership between Nigeria and the United States. The event also highlighted both countries’ commitment to deepening cooperation in areas including trade, security, education, investment, and cultural exchange.
