Hailing from Awa Ancient Kingdom in Oguta LGA, she has built an impressive career that combines journalism, law, public service, advocacy, and community leadership.
With academic qualifications in Government and Public Administration, Journalism, and Law, Barr. Ottih possesses a deep understanding of governance, communication, legislation, and public policy. Her professional journey reflects dedication to public enlightenment and social development.
As a seasoned journalist, she served for over 12 years as Senior Correspondent covering the Imo State House of Assembly and also reported from the Government House, gaining firsthand experience in legislative processes and governance. Her years in the media strengthened her capacity for public engagement, accountability, and effective communication.
Barr. Ottih has also demonstrated remarkable leadership through various organizations. She served as former Chairperson and Secretary of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Imo State, and currently serves as Special Adviser to the National President of NAWOJ. Her involvement with the Federation of International Female Lawyers (FIDA) and her work as a human rights activist further highlight her passion for justice, fairness, and the protection of vulnerable groups.
Her political experience as a former Deputy Governorship Candidate under the ADP in 2023 reflects courage, vision, and commitment to democratic participation. Beyond politics, she has actively coordinated welfare and outreach initiatives across communities in Imo State, touching lives through grassroots service.
