An Open Letter to His Royal Highness, Eze Dr. Emereuwaonu Njoku, Eze Udo II of Nguru Umuowa Autonomous Community.

It is with immense joy and excitement that I extend my heartfelt congratulations to you, the esteemed Njoku Family, the Umuowa town, and the entire Nguru Umuowa Autonomous Community on the momentous occasion of receiving the staff of office from the Imo State Government, under the visionary leadership of Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, on March 22, 2025. This milestone marks the culmination of a challenging journey, replete with obstacles that tested the resolve of the community.
As you assume your rightful position as the Traditional Ruler of Nguru Umuowa Autonomous Community, it is essential to acknowledge the complex history of Ezeship tussles that have beset the Umuowa community. These protracted struggles have, regrettably, created divisions and fostered long-standing animosities among individuals and families. However, with your ascension to the throne, a new era of peace, unity, and development can now unfold.
As you embark on this noble journey, I offer a few words of counsel. Firstly, it is crucial to recognize that not everyone in the community supported your candidacy, and this is a natural phenomenon in any contest. Nevertheless, as the Community King, you now have the sacred responsibility to rule over all, regardless of their past stance or affinity towards you. It is essential to eschew selective treatment and instead, emulate the selfless example of a shepherd, who tends to his flock with unwavering care and compassion.
Your Highness, as you navigate the complexities of governance, it is vital to prioritize the unity and reconciliation of the Umuowa town. By employing every strategy to reunite the town and community, you can restore peace and tranquility, thereby creating a conducive environment for growth and development. Furthermore, it is crucial to be mindful of the counsel you receive, avoiding the pitfalls of bad advice that may lead to favoritism and division.
As you begin your reign, it is essential to recognize that your success or failure will ultimately be attributed to your leadership, rather than the advice of your counselors. Therefore, it is imperative to assume the mantle of leadership with courage, wisdom, and integrity. Your Highness, even those who may not have supported your candidacy can no longer resist the reality of your position. It is now incumbent upon you to extend your love and care to all, regardless of their past stance or affiliation.
In the selection of your Cabinet, I urge you to adopt an inclusive approach, ensuring that every faction of the town is represented. This will not only foster peace and tranquility but also facilitate the participation of all stakeholders in the governance of the community. As we pray for a successful and long-lasting reign, we are confident that your educational background and age experiences will be invaluable assets in steering the community towards a digital and prosperous future.
Long Live the King! Long Live Nguru Umuowa Autonomous Community! Long Live Ndi Umuowa!
Sincerely,
Ibe Innocent Ugonna
