Her Excellency, Barr. Chioma Uzodimma, FIMC, CMC, First Lady of Imo State, Founder of the GoodHope Women Flourish Initiative, Secretary of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), and Chairperson of First Ladies Against Cancer, joined fellow First Ladies in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, on the Renewed Hope Initiative train led by Her Excellency Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and National Chairman of the Renewed Hope Initiative.
The visit featured the commissioning of the RHI–TETFUND ICT Experience Centre at Ekiti State University and the official flag-off of the Ekiti Women’s Campaign for the re-election of Governor Biodun Oyebanji ahead of the June 2026 governorship election.
As Secretary of the Renewed Hope Initiative, Barr. Chioma Uzodimma actively participated in engagements aimed at advancing the welfare and empowerment of women, youth, and vulnerable groups across the country. The delegation also met with members of the Ekiti State Traditional Rulers’ Council, where the First Lady of Nigeria acknowledged the challenges posed by insecurity while reassuring Nigerians of the Federal Government’s commitment to restoring peace and stability. She encouraged citizens, especially women, to remain hopeful, resilient, and prayerful as the nation continues on the path of progress.
A major highlight of the visit was the presentation of a ₦100 million Business Recapitalisation Grant to 2,000 women petty traders, with each beneficiary receiving ₦50,000 to strengthen their businesses and improve family livelihoods. The intervention further underscores the Renewed Hope Initiative’s unwavering commitment to economic empowerment and inclusive development.
The programme builds on several impactful RHI interventions in Ekiti State, including scholarships, bursaries, educational support initiatives, environmental sustainability programmes, and the distribution of sanitary pads to schoolgirls.
