Nguru Umuowa Monarch, Leaders Meet Police Commissioner On Security Concerns

In a bid to enhance security in Nguru Umuowa Autonomous Community, the traditional ruler, His Royal Highness Eze Dr. Eme Njoku, Eze Udoh II, led a high-powered delegation to the Imo State Commissioner of Police, CP Aboki Danjuma, at the State Command Headquarters, Owerri.

The delegation included the Divisional Police Officer of Umueke Ngor Okpala Division and the Presidents-General of Nguru and Umuowa, Mr. Peter Okere and Mr. Anthony Okere. They presented the community’s growing concerns over rising insecurity and stressed the need for stronger collaboration between residents and the police.

Speaking during the meeting, Eze Dr. Njoku highlighted the importance of peace as the foundation of progress.

“What our people desire most is to live in peace and go about their daily activities without fear. We are here to build a stronger partnership with the police so that Nguru Umuowa and Ngor Okpala at large can be models of security and development,” the monarch said.

In his remarks, CP Danjuma assured the delegation of the Command’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives and property.

“We are committed to providing citizen-friendly, intelligence-driven, problem-solving, and law-abiding policing across Nguru Umuowa and Ngor Okpala. Proactive measures will be put in place, but we also need the people to partner with us by providing timely and useful information,” the Commissioner stated.

He further emphasized that sustainable security requires joint efforts from the police, government, traditional institutions, and the citizens themselves.

The meeting was described as a significant step toward strengthening security in Nguru Umuowa. Community leaders called on residents to support security agencies, noting that peace and stability are crucial for the continued growth of the entire Ngor Okpala region.
