Insecurity In Imo State: Release All Abducted Victims, Join Hands To Build A Peaceful Imo

The Bring Back Ohakim (BBO) 2027 Campaign Organization expresses deep concern over the disturbing wave of kidnappings in Imo State, including the recent abduction of Hon. Ngozi Ogbu, former Chairman of Okigwe Local Government Area. The circulation of videos showing him in captivity has shocked the conscience of Imolites and underscored the urgent need for collective action against insecurity.
We commend the sustained efforts of the state government and security agencies who, often under very difficult circumstances, have continued to confront criminals and violent gangs threatening the peace of our communities. Their sacrifices and commitment deserve recognition, even as we urge them not to relent until every corner of Imo is safe.
The BBO 2027 Organization, in solidarity with the families of all victims, calls on the abductors to immediately and unconditionally release Hon. Ngozi Ogbu and all other citizens held hostage. No grievance or personal ambition justifies the humiliation or endangerment of innocent lives.
At the same time, we appeal directly to those involved in kidnapping and violent crime: Imo belongs to all of us. Instead of turning against our brothers and sisters, we urge you to lay down your arms and return to the mainstream of society. Government and good-spirited individuals are creating opportunities for empowerment and rehabilitation. It is never too late to embrace peace and contribute positively to the growth of our dear state.
The BBO 2027 remains committed to peace, justice, equity, and inclusive governance. We believe that with unity of purpose, the cooperation of communities, and the resolve of government and security agencies, Imo State will overcome its security challenges and reclaim its pride of place as a safe, prosperous, and united state.
