Allegation Against Uzodimma: Ngor Okpala APC in Disarray as Members Shun Kangaroo Reception of New Entrants By Embattled Legislative Leader
It’s now a classical case of one day one flop for the embattled councillor of Obiangwu/Ezemba Ward 10, and Leader of Ngor Okpala Legislative Council, Hon Chibuike Agbugba, as his purported kangaroo reception of new members into the APC yesterday reportedly failed woefully,as officials, stakeholders, leaders and members of the party in his ward and LGA stayed away from the event.
Yesterday’s purported reception of decampees drama was the latest of several efforts so far made by the embattled lawmaker to redeem his image in the wake of the coming into open of his alleged revealation Against Gov Hope Uzodimma. He had alleged in a voice note that has already gone viral that the governor told him and his colleagues from the other local government areas of the state, that he had ceded 2027 Owerri Zone Senate ticket to Prince Alex Mbata, and further directed them to work for him.
Since that claim became public knowledge and threw APC in Ngor Okpala in disarray the lawmaker has faced unprecedented criticism and condemnation, as well as threat of becoming a political pariah in both his Obiangwu/Ezemba Ward, and Ngor okpala LGA in general.
To stave off this looming descent into political oblivion he has being running from pillar to post,trying to organize one face saving political event or another, in an attempt reduce the overwhelming backlash that has trailed that monumental gaffe, with the intention of redeeming his badly battered and bruised image.
Just this last Monday he called Councillors from the LGA to a meeting at a hotel at Umuowa Junction, Along Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport, Road, and begged them to pass a vote of confidence on him, but that effort flopped miserably, as the councillors not only declined, but also walked out on him.
This yesterday, Tuesday,June 24, 2025, hurried reception of a few purported decampees into the party, who were said to have been imported from his wife’s village,was yet another of the series of failed attempts he has so far made redeem himself,sadly it crashed like those before it.
According to sources within the ward being a party function,the event was supposed to have been graced by stakeholders, leaders and members of APC in the ward. But no single leader or stakeholder of the party attended the event. The number member of the party in the ward the Ward Chairman was absent,so also Government Liason Officer, GLO, down to the other party executive. They were not informed and none attended.
Also, no notable leader or stakeholder of the party in the whole of Ngor Okpala graced the event, including his fellow councillors and the Executive Chairperson of the LGA. Also, when the Imo APC Chairman Hon Macdonald Ebere, PhD, who he claimed gave the go ahead to the event was contacted, he denied authorizing the event.
