The Executive Chairman of Ngor Okpala LGA, Hon. Chief Mrs. Chika Ibekwe on this day, 3rd of December 2024, inaugurated the Ngor Okpala Local Government Council Area Physical Planning and Development Committee in her office at Ngor Okpala Local Government Council Secretariat, Umuneke.
The Physical Planning and Development Committee (PPDC) Ngor Okpala is to oversea all affairs of Ngor Okpala Town Planning, and land acquisition for site development, review all approvals granted on behalf of Ngor Okpala LGA Council from June 2020 till date, conduct enumeration of buildings and identify the sources of revenue available to Ngor Okpala LGA, identify purported revenue agents on behalf of the LGA, adopt measures to improve the revenue generation capacity of the LGA, and take appropriate decisions in achieving their terms of reference for the benefit of the LGA.
Addressing Ngor Okpala PPDC after their inauguration, Chief Mrs. Ibekwe, the Executive Chairman of Ngor Okpala LGA directed the committee to commence duty with immediate effect, promising to provide all materials and logistics needed for them to be efficient and effective in realizing the desired result for which they were appointed. She promised to provide them with ID cards, aprons and other necessary gadgets to equip them for the job.
Mrs. Ibekwe outlined the Ngor Okpala PPDC terms of reference as follows:
(1) To Review all Approvals granted on behalf of Ngor Okpala LGA from june 2020 till date and verify their compliance with due process.
(3) To conduct enumeration of buildings and identify the sources of revenue available to the LGA Administration for Approvals for physical planning and development.
(3) To identify sources of Revenue Leakages in the structure of Physical Planning and Development in the LGA.
(4) To identify any purported Revenue Agents on behalf of the LGA in the Physical Planning department ,review their operational method and make recommendations for improvement.
(5) To adopt measures to improve the Revenue generation capacity of the LGA in the area of Physical Planning and Development.
(6) To adopt its procedures and take appropriate decisions in achievement of the Terms of Reference for the benefit of the LGA.
The coordinator of Ngor Okpala PPDC, Hon. George Onwukwe expressed his gratitude to the Executive Chairman of Ngor Okpala LGA, Chief Mrs. Chika Ibekwe for her wonderful initiatives aimed at ensuring rapid growth and development of Ngor Okpala LGA. On behalf of other members of the committee, Hon. Onwukwe thanked the Executive Chairman for giving them the opportunity to serve Ngor Okpala in their capacity as PPDC members. He pledged the assurance of the committee to live up to the expectations of Ngor Okpala people.
