EXECUTIVE GOVERNOR OF IMO STATE
On this special day, the entire Bring Back Ohakim (BBO) 2027 family joins millions of Imolites and friends across the world to celebrate an extraordinary leader — His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Odidika Uzodinma, CON, the Executive Governor of Imo State. Today, we pay tribute not only to a performing governor, but also to a long-standing friend and partner in the collective progress of our dear state.
Your Excellency, the story of your relationship with His Excellency, Dr Ikedi Ohakim, is one etched in mutual respect, political maturity, statesmanship, and unwavering commitment to the development of Imo State. Many may have forgotten, but history remembers vividly that both of you stood side by side in 2003, contesting under the platform of the Alliance for Democracy (AD) as Governor and Deputy Governor candidates respectively. That moment marked the beginning of a political brotherhood that has endured, strengthened, and blossomed over more than two decades.
The cordiality and deep mutual respect between both of you continued through the years, including during the period when Dr Ikedi Ohakim served as Governor of Imo State (2007–2011)—a time when Your Excellency made your first senatorial bid for Imo West under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Even then, the relationship remained respectful, progressive, and grounded in shared aspirations for the state’s development.
Today, in 2025, that bond remains unbroken, stronger, and richer, reflecting the true spirit of political brotherhood built on trust, shared history, and a collective vision for a greater Imo.
Your Excellency, on your birthday, we also celebrate your remarkable achievements as Governor — achievements that speak boldly and clearly of dedication, courage, and transformational governance. Under your stewardship, Imo State has witnessed:
- Unprecedented Infrastructure Renewal
Road construction, urban renewal, rural connectivity, and landmark capital projects that have repositioned Imo toward sustainable growth.
- Empowerment and Economic Expansion
Youth empowerment, job creation initiatives, investment attraction, and programs that support SMEs and strengthen the state economy.
- Advancements in Healthcare Delivery
Modernization of health infrastructure, hospital upgrades, and improved access to quality healthcare across the 27 LGAs.
- Progressive Education Reforms
Rehabilitation of schools, teacher support programs, and enhanced tertiary education initiatives that continue to shape the future of Imo children.
- Strengthening of Institutions and Governance Structures
Just like the Ohakim administration, your government has emphasized institutional rebuilding, structured governance, and systems that outlive political tenures. It is remarkable how both administrations — though in different eras — share a common philosophy of governance rooted in order, structure, planning, and sustainable development.
Your Excellency, as we celebrate your birthday, we honour your statesmanship, your friendship, your accommodating leadership style, and your unwavering commitment to moving Imo State forward.
