MAN holds Groundbreaking of a Storey Building Complex in Umuowa

……AGM will hold at project site in December _ Okenze Obinna

In a move to boost presence in Southeast, Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) on Thursday , November, 7th, flagged off a storey building complex project in Ngor Okpala LGA.

The groundbreaking ceremony was conducted by the Executive Chairman of the LGA, Hon Chika Ibekwe, accompanied by the host, Eze- Elect Dr Eme Njoku, Eze Udo 11 Of Nguru Umuowa Autonomous Community, amidst commendations by the Chairman, Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, MAN, Imo/Abia branch, Prince Obasi Uba, Okenze Sylvester Obinna, Vice Chairman, MAN, Imo/Abia branch and other eminent Ngor Okpala sons.
The project aimed at driving the principal objectives of the association growth in both states, providing much needed economic diversification amid Nigeria’s current financial challenges, is expected to be completed in no distance time.
Hon Chika Ibekwe in her address eulogized the leadership of Manufacturers Association of Nigeria for citing the project in Ngor Okpala LGA, adding that on completion, the secretariat will create job opportunities for youths from the area. Also, by this development, all manufacturers from Imo and Abia states will be attending council meetings four times in a year in Ngor Okpala LGA
The decision by Manufacturers Association of Nigeria to embark on this ambitious venture in Ngor Okpala is a testament to the dynamism of Nguru Umuowa Autonomous Community as one of the foremost commercial hubs in the state.
In his goodwill message, the Eze Udo 11 Of Nguru Umuowa Autonomous Community, Dr Eme Njoku, expressed satisfaction with the project, assuring his support and seeing it as a legacy of Imo_Abia cooperation. He also, stressed the value of the initiative in uplifting Ngor Okpala’s profile nationally and encouraged the job creation in the area.

Stakeholders in the state have greeted the development with kudos, commendations to one of the foremost entrepreneur in Imo, Okenze Sylvester Obinna, Chairman/CEO of Luxury Building and Accessories for facilitating the project to be cited in Ngor Okpala LGA.
“Okenze Obinna is an investor of note, I am not surprised he facilitated this project, a real estate consultant, posited, even while he pleaded on condition of anonymity.
Our correspondent learnt that the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of MAN for Imo/Abia branch is scheduled to hold at it’s permanent site in Umuowa, Ngor Okpala LGA on the 13th of Dec, 2024. This year’s AGM will be a historic event for the association as this would be the first time they will hold their annual general meeting at the permanent site, kudos to the foresight of Okenze Sylvester Obinna.
In an interactive session with the chairman of the building/project committee, who doubles as the Vice Chairman of MAN, Imo Abia branch, ” this year’s annual general meeting, all activities of the association will take place at the project site.
The impact of this decision in consultation with our chairman, Prince Obasi Uba, is not aimed at saving cost but ensure that a greater percentage of our budget for this year’s AGM will be used to develop our permanent site and I assure you that members will appreciate our efforts.
“This year’s annual general meeting shall include unveiling of our new secretariat permanent site as well as fund raising for the completion of the multi million naira building complex.
Also, Commissioner for , Mines and Solid Minerals, Rt Hon Ernest Ibejiako, commended Manufacturers Association of Nigeria for citing their permanent headquarters in Imo state and assuring them of government support at all times.
Highpoint of the groundbreaking was courtesy visit to the Eze- Elect of Nguru Umuowa Autonomous Community, Dr. Eme Njoku as well as a stop over at the palace of Okenze Sylvester Obinna, Okenze Ngor Okpala LGA where the guests were entertained.
In company of the Eze – Elect of Nguru Umuowa Autonomous Community were the two president generals, Mr Peter Okereafor, President General, Nguru Umuaro Development Union, NUDU, Mr Amahim Anthony Okere, President General, Umuowa Progressive Community, as well as the entourage of the council chairman, Hon (Engr) Chibuike Agwuba, Legislative Leader, Ngor Okpala Legislative Council, Hon Ekene Akuta, Majority Leader, Ngor Okpala Legislative Council amongst others.
