NYCN Okigwe Zone Commends Senator Patrick Ndubueze’s Outstanding Achievements, Seeks Stronger Youth Collaboration

The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Okigwe Zone, under the leadership of Comrade Kelechi Iwuchukwu, Vice Chairman of the Council, has commended the Distinguished Senator representing Imo North Senatorial District, Senator Patrick Chibuike Ndubueze, for his exceptional performance and far-reaching developmental strides at the National Assembly.

In a statement issued on December 11, 2025, the apex youth body described Senator Ndubueze as a transformational leader whose representation has delivered renewed hope, visible progress, and restored pride to the people of Okigwe Zone.

The Council noted that within a short period in office, Senator Ndubueze has recorded landmark achievements across critical sectors, setting what it described as a new benchmark for effective representation in Imo State.

Education, Power, and Infrastructure Gains
NYCN Okigwe Zone praised the Senator for sponsoring and securing the passage of the bill establishing the Federal University of Okigwe, describing it as a historic milestone that will expand access to higher education, stimulate economic activities, and create long-term opportunities for youths across the senatorial district.

The youth body also applauded his instrumental role in facilitating the ₦63 billion electricity restoration project, which ended over two decades of blackout in Okigwe Zone, alongside his advocacy for the rehabilitation of the abandoned 2/30 Power Plant and the attraction of major federal road projects worth billions of naira across the six local government areas.

Youth Empowerment and Employment Opportunities
The Council further highlighted Senator Ndubueze’s commitment to youth empowerment and human capital development, citing the training of over 100 youths and women with start-up kits, as well as a mega empowerment programme that distributed buses, tricycles, motorcycles, laptops, generators, and other livelihood tools.

NYCN Okigwe Zone also acknowledged the Senator’s role in linking constituents, especially youths, to federal agency recruitment and employment opportunities, in addition to grants, palliatives, and agricultural inputs—interventions the Council described as critical to reducing unemployment and social vulnerability.

Legislative Excellence and National Recognition
On the legislative front, the Council commended Senator Ndubueze for sponsoring strategic bills such as the Local Automotive Patronage Bill, his appointment as Chairman, Senate Committee on Works, and his recognition as a Fellow of the Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers, noting that these reflect competence, capacity, and national relevance.

Call for Strategic Youth Partnership
While applauding these achievements, NYCN Okigwe Zone called for deeper collaboration and structured partnership between the Senator’s office and the statutorily recognized apex youth body to ensure equity, coordination, and maximum grassroots impact in youth-focused programmes across the zone.

The statement reaffirmed the Council’s commitment to supporting leaders who demonstrate performance, sincerity, and people-centred leadership, describing Senator Patrick Ndubueze as one of the most impactful senators in Imo State.

NYCN Okigwe Zone expressed optimism that sustained collaboration would further consolidate development gains and advance the collective progress of Okigwe Zone.
