President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will today lead an array of prominent Nigerians to Imo State for the public presentation of Governor Hope Uzodimma’s new book.
The President is also expected to inaugurate several landmark projects completed by the APC-led state government. Among them are newly constructed roads, the iconic Assumpta Flyover, and the Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu International Conference Centre — the venue for the book launch.
The book, titled A Decade of Impactful Progressive Governance in Nigeria, was authored by Governor Uzodimma to highlight the achievements of the APC-led federal government over the past 10 years.
Speaking to journalists in Owerri ahead of the presidential visit, the State Commissioner for Information, Public Orientation and Strategy, Hon. Declan Emelumba, revealed that APC governors will be present in solidarity with Uzodimma, who also serves as chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum.
He added that the APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, will lead members of the National Working Committee alongside state party chairmen to the occasion.
Also expected are top traditional rulers, including the Sultan of Sokoto, the Ooni of Ife, and the Obi of Onitsha. They will be received by the Chairman of the Imo State Council of Ndi Eze, Eze Godwin Okeke.
The guest list further includes captains of industry, members of academia, labour leaders, market women, and students — reflecting what Emelumba described as the governor’s wide acceptance across Nigerian society.
He assured that security agencies are fully mobilized to ensure the safety of dignitaries and residents throughout the event.
The Commissioner also called on Imo citizens to come out en masse to welcome President Tinubu and extend to all visitors the state’s renowned hospitality.
