An authorized biography of the late elder statesman Dr Nnanna Ukegbu, titled “The Purpose of My Life: The Amazing Story of Dr Basil Nnanna Ukegbu,” written by Ethelbert Okere will be unveiled on Tuesday December 24, 2024 at a Colloquy on the late elder statesman. The venue is at Rockview Hotel Owerri, Imo State at 11 am.

According to a statement by the author, Ethelbert Okere, dignitaries expected at the occasion include Imo State governor Senator Hope Uzodimma, a former governor of Imo State Dr Ikedi Ohakim, who would chair the occasion and former national vice chairman South East of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Nze Ozichukwu would be the lead discussants.

Other discussants are the director of Abuja School of Social and Political Thoughts Dr Sam Amadi, a renowned Scholar Dr. Matthew Chima Amadi , Professor Frances Chukwumakere of the Department of Linguistics Imo State University and Dr TOE Ekechi, Chief Executive of Marketing & Media Ltd.

Several other dignitaries including politicians, within and outside Imo state, journalists, members of the academia, the clergy, among others are expected to grace the occasion.

The Late Dr Nnanna Ukegbu was a First Republic Parliamentarian and founder of one of the most reputable secondary schools in the former Eastern region, the Owerri Grammar School.
Dr TOE Ekechi
In 1980, he founded the first private university in Africa Imo Technical University (ITU) but which was decreed out of existence by the military in 1983 according to the statement.
