My dear people of Imo State and fellow Nigerians,
As we commemorate Democracy Day, I join millions of our compatriots in celebrating the resilience of the Nigerian spirit and the sacrifices of countless patriots whose courage and commitment paved the way for the democratic freedoms we enjoy today.
June 12 remains a powerful reminder that democracy is not merely about elections; it is about justice, inclusion, accountability, the rule of law, and the collective pursuit of the common good. It is a day that challenges us to continually strengthen our democratic institutions and renew our commitment to national unity and development.
While our nation continues to face economic, social, and security challenges, we must not lose faith in Nigeria. The future of our country depends on our willingness to work together across political, ethnic, and religious divides to build a more prosperous, secure, and equitable society for all.
To the people of Imo State, I urge us to remain steadfast in our pursuit of peace, progress, and good governance. Let us continue to promote the values of fairness, justice, hard work, and mutual respect that are essential for sustainable development and social harmony.
To our youths, who represent the greatest asset of our nation, I encourage you to remain actively engaged in the democratic process, develop your talents and skills, and prepare yourselves for the responsibilities of leadership and nation-building.
As we celebrate this important day, let us honor the heroes of our democracy not only with words but through actions that strengthen our communities, deepen our democratic culture, and advance the cause of national development.
May God continue to bless Imo State and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
