Former Governor of Abia State and ex-Senator representing Abia Central Senatorial District, Senator Theodore Ahamefula Orji, has officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State.
The defection marks a major political shift in the state’s political landscape, given Senator Orji’s longstanding influence and pivotal role in Abia politics over the years.
Senator Orji, who previously governed Abia State and later served in the National Assembly under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), had resigned his PDP membership a few months ago, sparking widespread political speculation.
Political analysts believe his move to the APC could trigger further realignments within the state, owing to his vast political experience, established pedigree, and strong network of loyal supporters across Abia Central Senatorial District and beyond.
