The Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi has endorsed Sola Ebiseni, the party’s candidate in the upcoming Ondo governorship election. Monday 11th November 2024, Obi joined the the good people of Ondo State and labour party at large for an epoch making campaign rally in Ondo State. Obi praised Ebiseni as a champion of fairness, equity, and justice.
In a statement released in his X, the former Governor of Anambra state Peter Obi emphasized the need to reject transactional politics, which has led to widespread misgovernance. He expressed optimism that committed leadership can revitalize Nigeria’s economy.
In his words: “In my interactions with him and through his role as the Afenifere Secretary, I have come to see him as someone who believes in a Nigeria rooted in fairness, equity, and justice. I urge the people to vote against transactional politics, which has thrown up the worst in us as our leaders and has led to widespread misgovernance.”
The Ondo State governorship election is scheduled to take place on November 16, 2024. This election will mark the end of incumbent governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s term.
Sola Ebiseni, a lawyer and former member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), joined the Labour Party after coming third in the PDP’s governorship primary. As the Afenifere Secretary, Ebiseni has demonstrated his commitment to Nigeria’s progress
