The State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo State and Board Chairman of the Federal College of Fisheries and Marine Technology, Lagos, Hon. MacDonald Ebere, PhD, has extended warm congratulations to Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, following his emergence as the newly ratified National Chairman of the APC.

Describing Prof. Yilwatda as a seasoned technocrat and strategic leader with whom he has enjoyed a long and fruitful working relationship, Hon. Ebere said the appointment was both timely and necessary to reposition the party for deeper grassroots consolidation and institutional renewal. He noted that Prof. Yilwatda’s longstanding commitment to party ideals and innovation will serve as a unifying force for members across board.

In his official statement made available shortly after the APC National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting yesterday, Hon. Ebere expressed deep appreciation to the number one leader of the party and President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for guiding the party through a smooth transition and ensuring stability at the helm of affairs.

He also commended the Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum and Governor of Imo State, His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, for his unwavering loyalty to the party and the pivotal role he played alongside his fellow governors in midwifing the emergence of Prof. Yilwatda through consensus and unity of purpose. According to him, this is yet another testament to Governor Uzodimma’s bridge-building role within and outside the South East geopolitical zone.

Furthermore, Hon. Ebere saluted all APC stakeholders at the national, state, and ward levels, acknowledging their consistent support, resilience, and unflinching commitment to the party’s values and vision. He urged them to remain steadfast and loyal as the party takes a more focused path toward repositioning the country for economic and democratic advancement.
“As we march into the future, particularly toward the 2027 general elections, I want to reassure Nigerians that the APC under the leadership of President Tinubu and our new National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, will continue to fulfill its promises to the people,” he said.

Hon. MacDonald emphasized that the party remains committed to delivering impactful governance and inclusive growth across all sectors, noting that the support of the people remains its greatest strength.

The event, which held at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja, attracted key stakeholders from across the country and has been described by many analysts as a show of maturity, discipline, and internal unity within the party.
