2027 IMO GUBER : OWERRI ZONE LEADERS UNITE IN SEARCH FOR UZODINMA’S SUCCESSOR.… EXPRESSES IMPLICIT CONFIDENCE IN GOVERNOR UZODINMA.

As the jostle for the Imo 2027 gubernatorial election gears momentum, the leaders of Owerri zone under the aegis of “Owerri Zone leaders of Thought” have emphasized on the need for Governor Uzodimma’s successor to be ceded to the geo political zone come 2027.

This statement was made known by the leaders of the zone in a communique issued at the second leadership meeting of the group held on Wednesday 25th June 2025 at the Civic Center residence of Prince Charles Amadi (Charlvon) and attended by political leaders across the zone.

In the three page communique issued by the zone led by Prince Charles Amadi (Charlvon), Chief Sir Henry Njoku (Harritex) and Prince Alex Mbata amongst others; the group articulated the immense benefits of the Senatorial zone under the Uzodinma led administration.
The group also expressed thanks to the Governor for the unprecedented achievements and rapid infrastructural development turnaround under the 3R Shared Prosperity Administration since assumption into office despite the challenges hitherto witnessed at the earlier period of the administration.

While addressing the group, Chief Sir Henry Njoku (Harritex) noted that it behoves on the people of Owerri zone to come together and embrace the olive branch hands of fellowship promulgated by Governor Hope Uzodimma which will assuage the zone in the spirit of Imo charter of equity come 2027.
Harritex opined that Governor of Imo State of Owerri zone extraction has become sacrosanct and non negotiable following it’s endorsement by the Imo State elders council and subsequent innovative executive bill giving rise to it’s legislative assent by the 9th Imo Assembly.
Harritex opined that Owerri zone should appreciate the Governor for the projects he has done in Imo State which mostly cut’s across the zone, having in mind that when you appreciate a person who has done you a kindness, they will do it again.

Prince Charles (Amadi Charvon) stated his conviction beyond reasonable doubts on the 2027 governor from Owerri zone extraction who must align fully with Governor Hope Uzodimma to ensure its actualization.
The business mogul stated that Owerri zone is very lucky to be in the good books of the 3R shared prosperity of Imo State which is determined to implement the Imo charter of equity.

In his words, Prince Alex Mbata averred that Owerri zone will continue to encourage the Governor for his achievements in the state at large which the zone is not an exception, haven benefited immensely.

In his words, the vice Chairman of Imo State elders council Prince Lemmy Akakem stated that it is a noble call for Owerri zone to position herself and be ready for leadership of Imo State going by the policy statement made known by Prince Charles Amadi adding that it is a divine initiative by God and time for Owerri zone to take the lead in the conduct of the policy and affairs of Imo State.

While lending their voice, Okenze S.I Obinna and Prince Marcelenous Nlemigbo urged the zone to embark on rural sensitization of the Imo charter of equity pointing out that election starts from the boots.
Prince Nlemigbo advised for grassroot mobilization at the various local governments of Imo State to ensure proper awareness for the Imo project from Owerri zone extraction stressing that the zone possess every necessary resources to ensure the actualization of the project.

In their separate speeches, Senator Francis Ezenwa Onyewuchi, General Chikwe (Rtd), Chief Uzoma Obiyo and Hon Barr Enyinna Onuegbu stated that Governor Uzodimma’s successor must be of impeccable character who must continue with the good works of Gov. Uzodimma adding that Owerri zone is already united and have reasons to appreciate the Governor for what he has done and lots more he is yet to do for Owerri zone hence, the need to reverence and always support the shared prosperity administration in appreciation of Senator Uzodimma’s unparalleled hands of friendship to the zone.

Present at the meeting also include party leaders, Barr Chukwuma Ekomaru (SAN), Her Excellency Lady Ada Okwuonu, all executive chairmen from Owerri zone, all past and present appointees from the zone, former and incumbent national and State Assembly members such as the Majority Leader of Imo House of Assembly Hon Kanayo Onyemaechi, Minority Leader of the Imo State House of Assembly Hon Ugochukwu Amuchie of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Barr Kingsley Ononuju, Dr Uzoma Obiyo, Hon Chidi Ibe, Hon Clinton Amadi of the Labour Party, Rt Hon Akarachi Amadi, Barr Enyinnaya Onuegbu, amongst others.
