-‘———HAILS GOV. UZODIMMA FOR CONTINUED SUPPORT

Following comprehensive deliberations and resolutions made during the Expanded Executive Council Meeting of the Igbo Traditional Rulers Forum (ITRF), the following communiqué was duly adopted and is hereby issued:

The Forum affirms that the meeting was both timely and crucial, given the pressing matters discussed.

The Forum expresses profound appreciation to His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, Governor of Imo State, for his unwavering support towards the Forum’s programs and initiatives. His leadership continues to exemplify honor, integrity, and commitment to the wellbeing of the Igbo people.

The Forum resolved that membership is strictly open to Traditional Rulers of Igbo origin from the seven Igbo-speaking states, and is voluntary. The aims and objectives of the Forum remain distinct and non-conflicting with those of other traditional institutions, focusing solely on fostering peace, unity, and sustainable development within Igbo land and Nigeria at large.

The Forum reaffirmed its commitment to recognize and appreciate individuals, groups, and government bodies that contribute meaningfully to the peace, unity, and progress of Igbo land and the Igbo nation.

The Forum acknowledged, with gratitude, the contributions of His Excellency, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, especially for the successful completion and commissioning of the Second Niger Bridge, other infrastructural projects across Igbo land, and strategic appointments of Igbo sons and daughters.

In view of the current security challenges facing the nation, the Forum urged all Igbo communities to utilize all legitimate, legal, and traditional means to combat criminal activities and enhance security in their respective areas. Member Traditional Rulers are further encouraged to collaborate with state governments and relevant agencies to implement youth development programs that will productively engage Igbo youth.

The Forum resolved to extend a formal congratulatory message to the newly elected President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Senator Azuta Mbata, and pledged its unflinching support to his administration in the collective interest of the Igbo nation.

The Forum agreed to institutionalize the rotational hosting of its meetings among the member states to encourage wider participation and inclusivity.

In conclusion, the Forum stands united and resolute in ensuring the effective implementation of this communiqué.
