DIVIDENDS OF DEMOCRACY: Ochiagha Nnanna Okere Urges Ngor Okpala LGA Chairman To Prioritize Umuowa Community

In a significant appeal to address years of neglect, a prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ngor Okpala Local Government Area (LGA) and publisher of the Nigerian-Politico Online Newspaper, Chief Dr. Ochiagha Nnanna Victor Okere, has urged the Executive Chairman of Ngor Okpala LGA, Hon. Chief Mrs. Chika Ibekwe, to ensure that the good people of Umuowa community are adequately represented and included in the administration’s development agenda.

Chief Okere made this heartfelt request during a courtesy visit by Hon. Chief Mrs. Chika Ibekwe to his country home in Umuawuka Umuowa, Ngor Okpala LGA.

The visit underscored the need for constructive engagement between the LGA administration and the community.

Speaking during the interaction, Chief Okere expressed deep dismay over the persistent neglect and marginalization of Umuowa community in local government projects, such as the grading of roads and the provision of essential amenities.

“Successiveadministrations have overlooked Umuowa, a community that has produced great sons and daughters who have contributed immensely to the development of Ngor Okpala,” Chief Okere said.

“We remain peaceful, supportive, and committed to the progress of this local government area. However, it is imperative that we also receive the dividends of democracy that are rightfully ours.”

Chief Okere emphasized that the people of Umuowa have always been active participants in fostering peace and development in Ngor Okpala and deserve equitable inclusion in governance and resource allocation.

In her response, Hon. Chief Mrs. Chika Ibekwe assured Chief Okere and the people of Umuowa community that no part of Ngor Okpala LGA would be sidelined under her administration. She reiterated her commitment to ensuring fair and inclusive governance for all communities.

“My administration is focused on equitable distribution of resources and opportunities across all communities in Ngor Okpala, including Umuowa. I urge all communities to continue to support and pray for divine guidance as I strive to serve the people of this local government,” Hon. Chief Mrs. Ibekwe stated.

She also called on the people of Ngor Okpala to support the shared prosperity vision of the Most Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, Governor of Imo State, as he continues to work towards delivering the dividends of democracy to the people of the state.

The visit and discussions highlighted the importance of mutual understanding and collaboration in achieving sustainable development and fostering unity among communities in Ngor Okpala LGA.
