A former member of the Imo State House of Assembly who represented Ngor Okpala State Constituency, Hon. Okenze Blyden Amajirionwu, KSM, has scheduled December 20, 2024, for a mega Christmas celebration for indigent individuals and students in Ngor Okpala LGA.

Amajirionwu announced this on Sunday, November 3, 2024, during the inauguration of the organizing committee at his Uvuru Ntu country home.

According to Hon. Okenze Amajirionwu, the event aims to alleviate hunger and bring joy to less privileged families who may struggle to afford “Food items” during the festive season. Additionally, the initiative will provide financial assistance of ₦25,000 each to over 360 indigent students to help them enroll for their O’Level examinations next year.

Amajirionwu emphasized that this initiative is not politically motivated, nor is it a display of wealth or affluence. Rather, it is a genuine humanitarian effort aimed at restoring hope to those in need. He urged members of the organizing committee to demonstrate commitment and ensure transparency in selecting the beneficiaries, warning against favoritism. He further noted that anyone who participates sincerely in the organizing committee can expect to receive blessings from God Almighty.

Chief Chidi Sylvester Eke and Dr. Perry Njoku, who each made separate remarks, thanked Okenze Blyden for this philanthropic initiative. They pledged to provide buses to transport selected beneficiaries from their respective communities of Umuhu and Onyeaghalanwanneya to and from the event.

The Chairman of the Organizing Committee and Vice Chairman of Ngor Okpala LGA, Hon. Kizito Onuoha, praised Okenze Amajirionwu and his family for their generosity toward less privileged families. He assured the committee’s commitment to working diligently to achieve the set goals and prayed for God’s continued blessings for Okenze Blyden and his family.
