Former governor of Imo state , Dr Ikedi Ohakim, has joined millions of other Nigerians in paying tribute to the late elder statesman, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, who passed away a few days ago at the age of ninety.
In a statement personally issued by him in Owerri on Sunday, Ohakim described the late Tukur as a “resilient politician and administrator who served the nation with dedication and honesty” .
Dr Ohakim further stated that the late former governor of the defunct Gongola state was ” a disciplinarian who believed that party supremacy and not be personal idisnyncrasies of political actors, should be the guiding principle in partisan politics”
He prayed God Almighty to grant the soul of the late former chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party eternal rest and his family, together with the entire people of Adamawa state, the fortitude to bear the loss.
