Nigeria’s Ambassador-designate to the Federal Republic of Poland, Her Excellency, Ambassador Mrs. Chioma Priscillia Ohakim, mni, has arrived in Warsaw to commence her official diplomatic assignment as Nigeria’s Ambassador to Poland.
Ambassador Ohakim arrived at Warsaw’s Chopin Airport at 1:30 p.m. local time on Saturday. She was accompanied by her husband, His Excellency, Chief Dr. Ikedi Godson Ohakim, former Governor of Imo State.
At a warm reception organized by the Chancery of the Embassy of Nigeria in Warsaw, Ambassador Ohakim expressed profound gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for considering her worthy of the appointment to serve Nigeria in Poland.
She also appreciated the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, and the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye, for their support, encouragement, and confidence in her.
The Ambassador further thanked the staff of the Nigerian Embassy in Warsaw, led by Mr. Samuel Amuh, for the warm reception and support extended to her upon arrival. She also expressed appreciation to members of the Nigerian community in Poland for the cordial welcome, describing it as a reflection of the unity, patriotism, and resilience of Nigerians in the diaspora.
Reaffirming her commitment to duty, Ambassador Ohakim pledged to work tirelessly to strengthen bilateral relations between Nigeria and Poland while promoting Nigeria’s diplomatic, economic, trade, and cultural interests. She also called on Nigerians residing in Poland to continue supporting the Embassy, emphasizing that collective efforts are essential to projecting a positive image of Nigeria and keeping the nation’s flag flying high.
The reception was attended by former Imo State Governor, Chief Dr. Ikedi Godson Ohakim, leaders of Nigerian organizations in Poland, elders, members of the Nigerian diaspora community, and officials of the Nigerian Embassy in Warsaw.
