Leadership is not a tea party.
It entails a lot of responsibilities, both on the part of the leader, and the citizenry.
Both play significant role in fostering peace, unity and progress in any nation.
However, these basic attributes can only manifest when the citizens play their part, by understanding the main functions of the three arms of Government.
As long as they lack knowledge of the above awareness, they will definitely find it difficult to appreciate the efforts, progressive leaders are making to achieve development in their various Constituencies.
The triumphant entry of Deacon Chike Okafor into public leadership, brought great relief to the good people of Okigwe South Federal Constituency.
In fact, before 2015, Okigwe South was a shadow of itself.
There was no standard development in Okigwe South, as we only heard from our elected representatives during electioneering time. After which, they disappear into thin air.
This detestable practice was decimated in 2015 when Deacon Chike Okafor was first elected as a member of the House of Representatives for Okigwe South Federal Constituency.
He showed capacity by ensuring that Okigwe South received serious government attention.
The progresive trajectory continued in 2019, and 2023, as he was re-elected by our people who were so pleased with his first, and second outing in the Green Chambers of the National Assembly.
Today, despite the challenges and toxic politics in Okigwe South, Deacon Chike Okafor has remained unperturbed, and_continued to offer effective leadership to his Constituents across Ehime Mbano, Ihitte Uboma and Obowo LGAs.
Sound critics have alluded to this obvious reality, because they knew the status of Okigwe South before 2015.
Deacon Okafor is a leader whose achievements are glaring to any reasonable person to see.
He has facilitated the gainful employment of numerous sons and daughters of Okigwe South into different agencies of government.
He has created, enabling environment for businesses to thrive in the Constituency.
He has facilitated the construction of durable roads across the three LGAs.
His achievements are too numerous to mention.
Every year, he takes care of WEAC registration fees of many Secondary School Students in the Federal Constituency.
His record in office is the reason, he is being celebrated, appreciated and honoured by the good people of Okigwe South, because, never in the history of Okigwe South, have we witnessed such giant strides by a leader who genuinely loves his people.
It is factual to point out that the story of Okigwe South has changed for good, under the pragmatic representation of Deacon Chike Okafor.
While other federal lawmakers find it difficult to carry out Constituency briefings in their Constituencies, Deacon Okafor does Constituency briefing every week, as he visits the Constituency every weekend to interact with his Constituents.
If not the tireless efforts of Deacon Chike Okafor, Okigwe South would not be amongst the league of progresive Federal Constituencies in Nigeria.
