Ex-Governor Ihedioha Felicitates Former Governor Ohakim at 68

Former Governor of Imo State, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, has extended warm birthday wishes to his friend, Dr. Ikedi Ohakim, as the former governor marks his 68th birthday.

In a goodwill message personally signed by Ihedioha, he described Dr. Ohakim as “a visionary leader whose impact on Imo State’s development trajectory remains deeply significant.” He noted that the former governor’s tenure between 2007 and 2011 was marked by strategic governance reforms, particularly in the areas of urban renewal and environmental sustainability.

“Dr. Ohakim did not come into public service as just another politician, but as a statesman refined by years of corporate experience and a clear sense of purpose,” Ihedioha stated. “His administration’s Clean & Green Initiative not only reshaped the aesthetics of Imo’s cities but also earned national and international recognition.”

Reflecting on Ohakim’s journey from his hometown of Okohia in Isiala Mbano to the seat of power in Owerri, Ihedioha remarked that his life stands as “a powerful testament to what intellect, courage, and conviction can achieve.”

He concluded by wishing the celebrant continued good health, peace, and fulfillment in the years ahead, affirming their enduring friendship and mutual respect.

“On behalf of my family, I join well-meaning Nde Imo and Nigerians in celebrating a remarkable leader. May the future hold even more honour and purpose for you,” he added.
