Former Governor Ohakim To Attend Okigwe Zone 2025 Youths Summit

A former governor of Imo state, Dr Ikedi Ohakim, will attend the summit being organized by Okigwe Zone Youths Digestive Forum.

Ohakim, governor of Imo state between 2007 and 2011, will address youths of Okigwe zone at the summit which will hold at the multipurpose Hall of Rockview Hotel in Owerri, the state capital on 5th July 2025.

The ex governor who spoke when the leadership of the Forum visited him to officially invite him for the epoch making summit, said that he remained committed to the ideals and prospects that move Okigwe zone and the state forward.

Ohakim who commended the leadership of the Forum for being thoughtful, urged the delegation to reach out to other prominent sons and daughters of the zone for the summit.

Earlier, the president and the leader of the delegation, Chijioke Onwubuariri, told the ex governor that the summit’s chief lecture would be delivered by a renowned professor of law, Nnamdi Obiaraeri, who is an indigene of the zone.

Onwubuariri, asserted that the summit was coming at a time when the people of the zone had started asking questions about their place in the state’s affairs.

Describing Ohakim as an indispensable factor in the peace, development and progress of Okigwe zone nay Imo state, Onwubuariri, opined that the summit offers the zone’s top players the ample platform to stay in one platform and articulate the issues affecting the zone and proffer solutions.

The Chairman, Board Of Trustees of the Forum, Dr Eli Dibia, said that Ohakim’s indication to attend the event had given the summit the public impetus it requires.

Dibia, said that the delegates at the summit would be excited to have Ohakim whom they see as a mentor addresses them.

The Director, Media and Publicity of the Forum, Chidiebube Okeoma, had earlier issued a statement disclosing that all illustrious sons and daughters of the zone irrespective of their political, cultural and religious inclinations would be invited to the summit.

The leadership of the Forum is currently touring Abuja, Lagos and Kano, respectively to invite prominent sons and daughters of the zone to the summit which promises to address mayraid of issues prohibiting the development of Okigwe zone.
