On this special day, August 4, 2025, we, the members of the Bring Back Ohakim (BBO) 2027 Organization in Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area, proudly join millions of Imolites and Nigerians to celebrate a towering figure in our political and developmental history — His Excellency, Chief (Dr) Ikedi Godson Ohakim.
A true son of Imo State, you rose with vision and governed with uncommon purpose. From your bold environmental reforms to your landmark infrastructural strides and youth-centered policies, your administration was a breath of fresh air that ushered in the New Face of Imo.
Among your most impactful legacies — especially dear to us in the oil-producing communities — was the establishment of the Imo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (ISOPADEC). This visionary institution was created to address the environmental degradation, ecological devastation, and chronic underdevelopment long suffered by our people due to oil exploration and neglect.
Under your leadership, ISOPADEC became a model of targeted intervention. During your tenure (2007–2011), it delivered vital projects in road construction, health facilities, educational infrastructure, skills acquisition programs, and youth employment schemes across Ohaji, Egbema, and Oguta. For the first time, oil-producing communities felt the presence of government and benefitted directly from the resources extracted from their soil.
Your legacy still resonates across our communities — from Ohaji to Obowo, Egbema to Ehime. You proved that with discipline, compassion, and competence, public service can become a force for transformation.
In an era where many seek office without vision, you remind us of what it means to lead with intellect, character, and a deep commitment to the people. Even in the face of political adversity, you have remained gracious, forgiving, and focused — qualities that have only strengthened your standing as a leader extraordinary.
We in Ohaji/Egbema LGA are proud to be associated with your renewed journey. We stand firm in our support, convinced that your return to leadership will restore dignity, equity, and development to Imo State.
As you mark another year of impact and inspiration, we pray that God continues to bless you with sound health, wisdom, and renewed vigor for the tasks ahead.
